Volunteers will plant native shrubs (wild plum, chokecherry, and rose) along the riparian area east of South Boulder Creek as part of the East Boulder Ditch Fish Passage project, an effort to reconnect in-stream habitat to benefit native fish. Volunteers will learn more about the project and how these plantings will enhance habitat for sensitive species including the federally Threatened Preble’s meadow jumping mouse. This project also supports a larger effort to remove non-native vegetation and establish native shrubs throughout the drainage corridor to support local wildlife communities.
