Volunteers will plant native shrubs (wild plum, chokecherry, and rose) along the edge of a riparian wetland east of South Boulder Creek with the City of Boulder OSMP and the Audubon Society. Volunteers will learn why and how these native plants will enhance habitat for sensitive species including the federally Threatened Preble’s meadow jumping mouse. This event is part of a larger effort to remove non-native vegetation and establish native shrubs throughout the drainage corridor to support local wildlife communities.
