IMPORTANT: This project may be cancelled/postponed in the event of inclement weather conditions. Project Description: You're invited come to Primos Park (our NEW Park on Violet Avenue) to help our Parks & Recreation staff build simple stone steps into the creek bank to provide creek access for neighborhood children, repaint the door and refresh the Little Play Library structure, and pick-up litter. This event is family friendly! But PLEASE be sure to complete a separate sign-up for your kids as well. Food will be provided to volunteers after the project! Where to Park and Meet: Please park on the North Side of Violet Ave between 19th Street and Modena Ave (See photo attached to links at the bottom left corner of this page). There will be a table to meet at and get supplies. Parking will be very limited, so you many need park nearby and walk. Parks and Recreation always encourages carpooling, taking the bus, biking, or walking as well to reduce car traffic onsite. What to wear: As you know, Colorado weather can vary greatly throughout the day so please dress in layers - we will be working outside with limited to no access to indoor space. For your safety, please wear close-toed shoes to this volunteer project. This project will be outdoors doing landscaping, so long sleeves, long pants, and hat are recommended. What to bring: Wear waders, tall boots, or galoshes to help build the steps in the creek. Bring work gloves, clothes to paint in, refillable water bottle (additional water will be available), sunscreen, hat, snacks.
