Come join City of Boulder Open Space & Mountain Parks to celebrate National Trails Day 2024! This year, volunteers will help construct the North Sky Trail, a new 3.5 mile multi-use trail that provides connection between North Foothills Trail and Joder Ranch. The new trail will improve connectivity, reduce undesignated trails, improve trail sustainability and protect natural resources. WHAT: National Trails Day 2024 WHEN: Saturday June 1, 2024 – 8am – 4pm PROJECT: North Sky Trail Construction WHERE: OSMP North Sky Access Point https://www.google.com/maps/place/40%C2%B005'57.2%22N+105%C2%B017'02.4%22W/@40.0992341,-105.2865739,620m/data=!3m2!1e3!4b1!4m4!3m3!8m2!3d40.09923!4d-105.283999!5m1!1e4?entry=ttu PREPARATION FOR THE DAY: --Three quarts of water & snacks --Sturdy shoes or boots (No “five-finger” types of shoes, sandals, etc.) --Rain jacket. --Personal first aid kit, if you have one (OSMP will have a group first aid kit.) --Backpack to carry personal items. --Sunglasses, hat and sunscreen. --Clothing appropriate for weather conditions. Dress appropriately for Colorado weather and to work in an outdoor setting off trail. If volunteers come unprepared, you will not be allowed on the project site.
