Have you experienced all 150 miles of OSMP trails? Immerse yourself in local lands with these OSMP led hikes where we help you design your own trail challenge and keep you motivated. As a part of the Trail Challenge Series we’ll explore the unique diversity of every designated OSMP trail. The winter is a perfect time to begin your challenge as you maintain your physical fitness, make new friends and build community. TRAIL DESCRIPTION: Meet at the Shanahan Ridge trailhead off Lehigh. This trail is a difficult 4.5 mile Figure 8 hike with 1000 ft of elevation gain. This hike takes us through some fantastic ponderosa pine forests as well as open fields. We'll also have viewpoints of some less known rock features in OSMP. The trail has steep sections with uneven terrain. Please bring layers appropriate for the weather, at least 1L of water, snacks, and trail crampons for ice and slippery conditions (OSMP will have extras on hand if you do not own any or need help finding the right pair to suit your needs).
