CANCELLED DUE TO WEATHER: Ancient Hunting: Learn Spear Throwing with an Atlatl

 05/28/2019  |  05:00 PM - 07:00 PM
 |  Registration Required

Local History - Adults

Join us for this rare opportunity to test your skills with an ancient spear throwing technique over 30,000 years old, used by Paleo hunters to bring down mammoths and giant bison. In this interactive program, OSMP’s Christian Driver of Cultural Resources will teach you how to use an atlatl - a ground breaking ancient spear-throwing technology found across the world, including here in Colorado. We’ll talk about how ancient peoples may have used the technology, and try the atlatl spear throwing out for ourselves! Please bring loose-fitting or athletic clothing, layers appropriate for the weather, and snacks/water to keep yourself comfortable. Meeting location provided in confirmation email.
