Important Project Details: Date & Time: Saturday September 24th, 8:00AM – 4:00PM Project Location: Chautauqua Area Trails Volunteer Registration/Check in: Registration will occur at the gathering area along the Chautauqua Trail near the Ranger Cottage from 7:30am – 8:00am. Please look for an OSMP staff member to check you in and be assigned to a work crew for the day. Lunch: OSMP will provide a healthy, delicious lunch for all volunteers. You are encouraged to bring your own snacks. OSMP Will Provide: Lunch, extra water, safety equipment & all tools. What to Bring: • Three quarts of water • Dress in layers. • Work gloves. • Sturdy shoes or boots (No “five-finger” types of shoes.) • Long pants. • Rain jacket. • Personal first aid kit, if you have one (OSMP will have a group first aid kit.) • Backpack to carry personal items. • Sunglasses, hat and sunscreen. • Clothing appropriate for weather conditions. How to get to the project: Even on Fall mornings, parking around Chautauqua can be challenging. If you are unable to park in main lot near the Ranger Cottage off Kinnikinnick Rd. or in the circle around the Chautauqua Lawn (Clematis Dr. & Sumac Dr.), your best bet is to try parking along Baseline Rd or along the neighborhood streets just North of Baseline Rd. All of these options will offer you free parking for the day. Dress appropriately for Colorado weather and to work in an outdoor setting off trail. If volunteers come unprepared, you will not be allowed on the project site. OSMP will provide lunch, extra water, gloves and safety gear.
