Volunteer during STEAM Week in the BLDG 61 Makerspace helping with this STEAM workshop where participants ages 10-adult will learn to make a light-up wearable circuit. We are looking for FOUR volunteers to be greeters, help with crowd control, help with setup/breakdown, and assist attendees with sewing (threading a needle, making knot), conveying basic instructions and/or troubleshooting circuits. We'll be sewing simple LED circuits into fabric. Skills needed: Welcoming and friendly attitude, comfort talking to members, comfort with setting up tables and chairs, supporting library staff with program. Desired skills: Comfort with either sewing (Threading a needle, knotting thread) or circuit experience (avoiding crossed circuit, troubleshooting simple circuit error) Minimum age to volunteer: 13 years old. Families encouraged to volunteer together! This opportunity is not available for court-ordered community service requirements.
