Reynolds STEAM Pals (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) is a program intended to promote STEAM knowledge and literacy by providing role models for art and science activities at the George Reynolds Branch Library. We strive to foster a love for all things STEAM. This program promotes familiarity with the scientific process for children in elementary school in a comfortable and supportive environment. Little STEAM Pals is open for children in grades K-2.
If you are in grades 9-12, you can apply to partner up with a Little Pal to serve as a role model for exploring STEAM activities.
Applications are currently being accepted. Deadline to apply is Saturday, September 9, 2023. Click on the application for details on program dates.
STEAM Pal sessions are on Wednesday afternoons from 4:45 - 5:45pm. STEAM Pal volunteers are expected to attend every scheduled session and to arrive fifteen minutes early to help set up and to stay up to fifteen minutes after the session to help clean up (4:30 - 6:00pm). A mandatory training will be held a week before the program begins. The training session is on September 13 from 4:45-5:45.
There will also be opportunities to be a Lead Volunteer at least once throughout the six weeks. The Lead Volunteer will come to the library on Saturday afternoon the week before to help gather the necessary supplies and learn about the experiment for the next STEAM session.
Apply online to become a volunteer.
