Come Help Restore South Boulder Creek!! Open Space and Mountain Parks continues to restore stretches of the South Boulder Creek riparian corridor. Volunteers will assist restoration ecology staff with the planting of hundreds of native riparian shrubs and learn about riparian and stream ecology. We’ll also share the city’s strategy to reduce the spread of New Zealand mud snails, an invasive snail that reproduces rapidly and can displace native insects that fish rely upon for food, impacting fish populations and the animals that feed on them. Project rating: Moderate. Will require some digging, bending, carrying of potted plants. Friday, November 5th, 8:30 am - noon Please wear long pants and closed toe shoes. Bring a mask for when social distancing in not possible. Bring water, hat, snacks and other personal items. We will be following CDC/WHO guidelines along with the state of Colorado standards for precaution against the spread of COVID-19. We'll have work gloves and hand tools to share.
