Your Land

67 million years ago a river delta and beach at the edge of a shallow sea made possible today’s amazing White Rocks landscapes. This is one of the most unique places in Boulder, rich in local history, housing plants and animals of exceptional local rarity. Join Wildlife Ecologist Will Keeley and Geologist Sue Hirschfeld, for an in-depth exploration of the habitats and wildlife that uses them. Bring water and food as well as binoculars and sun, rain and mosquito protection, long pants, gaiters to minimize the spread of invasive species, and sturdy boots for walking off-trail are recommended. Please note there are ground nesting wasps where we will be walking. If you have been on a White Rocks hike before, please let others who have not had a turn register first. Due to the Covid-19 virus, we are stressing safety protocols for all hike participants. Group sizes will be limited, and you must register beforehand to attend. Note: If you have not yet taken the required “OSMP COVID-19 Safety Protocol for Programs," you will be automatically directed to take that course when you log in to register. Click “Start” to go to the course page and scroll down to click “Start” again to begin the course. It should take about 5 minutes to complete. When you’ve read and clicked through ALL of the course pages using the “Next” button, you will be brought back to the general “Courses” page. Return to this registration web page, and click the Registration link and click “Register” again to be added to the roster.
