Recreation & Skills

The City of Boulder has over 46,000 acres of Open Space with 179 designated trails covering about 160 miles. Can you hike them all? Find out about OSMP’s Trails Challenge and check a couple trails off the list during this moderate hike (about 4.5 miles round trip and about 800ft of elevation gain) as we take a scenic hike through the Eldorado Mountain Habitat Conservation Area. We’ll hike at a moderate pace and learn about some ecology, geology and history along the way. Note: while this is a moderate hike, expect some sections of rocky terrain. Hike Details: Meet at the Fowler Trailhead on County Road 67 off of Eldorado Springs Drive. (Google Maps has the correct location. No designated parking area, so park along the road. Please be respectful of neighbors and not block driveways. Obey signs as all normal parking regulations apply.) Please bring layers appropriate for the weather, water and proper hiking footwear.
