Join naturalist Debbie Cushman for an adventure back in time and discover the history of the homesteaders in the South Boulder foothills area. We will explore the remains of historic cabins and hear tales of old on our journey: the deadly feud between the Dunns and Brammeiers, as well as the amazing tale of the pedal organ carried all the way up to the Stockton cabin! This is a strenuous 5.5 mile loop with approximately 800 feet of elevation gain starting from the South Mesa Trailhead. Please bring at least 1.5 liters of water and a snack. We will need to stay at a quick pace to finish our loop! This trailhead is a fee parking area: if you do not have Boulder County license plates on your car, there is a $5 cash fee in exact bills.
