Join Boulder historian and water resources expert Bob Crifasi for a half-day bike trip across OSMP to explore Boulder’s early history, hear about historic irrigation ditches, and the settlers who built the first farms. See how land and water management contribute to the quality of life in Boulder Valley and shape the environment as we know it today. Along the way, we’ll look at OSMP lands and the South Boulder Creek State Natural Area. We will also see a number of ditches, diversion dams, fish passages, and take a close look at South Boulder Creek. We’ll finish the day on the South Boulder Creek bike trail at KOA Lake on Valmont Road, near the post office. The exact starting place near Eldorado Springs will be provided in your confirmation email. Total distance: 11 miles one way.
