Youth Projects "One-Day" - Youth (11+) and Adults

This morning project is for middle and high school students (11-18 years old) and any siblings/family/friends they would like to join them (all participants must register separately). Join us for a safe, fun, and meaningful opportunity to get outside, make a difference, and meet new people! We are following CDC/WHO guidelines and state of Colorado standards to minimize the spread of COVID-19. PROJECT There's a beautiful, albeit invasive, purple flower that blooms in late July/early August - it's name is Teasel. And once you get to know it.... you'll see it EVERYWHERE! Join us for a sunny day in the fields of Boulder snipping teasel flower heads and helping us limit the spread (of teasel)! We'll share why this plant is important to control on open space and why the work you're helping us with improves ecosystems. Details (i.e. where to meet) will be sent via email 2-3 days prior to the event. PROJECT DIFFICULTY - EASY Volunteers will be standing, walking, and bending. We will be using hand/garden clippers and bagging the flower heads we snip off.
