Whether you’re new to Boulder, a long- time resident, or a short-term visitor, if you’d like to learn what makes the flora, fauna, and history of Boulder’s Open Space and Mountain Parks so unique, this hike is for you! We will take a leisurely mile and a half round-trip hike up the Chautauqua and Bluebell Baird Trails, stopping along the way to take in views of the Flatirons and talk about why OSMP is such a special place. This hike is suitable for ages 9 to 90. Bring water, sunscreen, and a snack, and wear sturdy footwear. We’ll meet at the Ranger Cottage at 9 AM, but be sure to leave enough time to park - which can be difficult and is fee-based in summer at Chautauqua. ALTERNATIVE TRANSPORTATION: The City offers a free shuttle from free parking locations in Downtown Boulder and other areas (View map https://www-static.bouldercolorado.gov/docs/r5-Park-to-Park-2018-Map-Large_final-1-201805161148.jpg) on weekends, from May 25 through September 2, every 15 minutes from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Follow this link for more on the Park to Park Shuttle web page: https://bouldercolorado.gov/transportation/parktopark
