This is a refresher training for experienced Monarch Larva Monitoring Project participants. In this session we will review protocols, resolve any issues with site selection or monitoring, discuss tips to increase monitoring success, and generally have some fun with fellow monarch enthusiasts. We will also discuss the 2019 International Monarch Monitoring Blitz, scheduled for July 27th to August 4th, and how your monitoring data contributes to that effort. Additional information on the Monarch Larva Monitoring Project and training opportunities for new monitors is available here: https://monarchlab.org/mlmp. Liz Goehring is a local ecologist and educator and the instructor for this session. Liz has 25 years of experience in ecological education and is passionate about helping individuals of all ages connect with the natural environment, engage in science as a means of discovery, and see their actions through the lens of sustainability. Please bring a notebook, notes from last year's monitoring and a snack!
