What: BMA Trail Maintenance Project Site: Springbrook Loop When: 9:00am - 3:00pm., Saturday June 26th, 2021 Parking/Registration: Doudy Draw Trailhead. Please plan to ride your bike if you want! PROJECT Join BMA & City of Boulder Open Space & Mountain Parks for our annual Spring trail maintenance day! After a long, hard year we invite you to get outside with your fellow riders and friends and help maintain and improve your trails! The work helps to reduce OSMP’s maintenance backlog, protect valuable natural resources, provide a more enjoyable visitor experience for all visitors. PROJECT DIFFICULTY Moderate. There is a 3 mile round trip hike/ride from the trailhead to a semi-remote project site. Project will involve hiking over uneven terrain, bending, lifting up to 25lbs, and using general hand tools. PREPARATION FOR THE DAY --Two quarts of water or camel packs. --Dress in layers. --Work gloves. --Sturdy boots (No lightweight shoes, or “five-finger” types of shoes.) --Long pants. --Rain jacket. --A long sleeved T-shirt. --Personal first aid kit, if you have one (OSMP will have a group first aid kit.) --Backpack to carry personal items. --Sunglasses, hat and sunscreen. --Clothing appropriate for weather conditions. Dress appropriately for Colorado weather and to work in an outdoor setting off trail. If volunteers come unprepared, you will not be allowed on the project site.
