Join the City of Boulder Open Space & Mountain Parks to celebrate National Public Lands Day 2021! We invite you to get outside with your fellow community members and help restore the old Tenderfoot Trail alignment after the completion of a new sustainable trail! The new trail will reduce OSMP’s maintenance backlog, protect valuable natural resources, and provide a more enjoyable visitor experience. To enhance the celebration of our public lands, a very special lunch will be curated on site in the theme of sustainability and our natural spaces from Nonna Eats. www.nonnaeats.com PROJECT DIFFICULTY: Moderate. There is a 2 mile, round trip hike from a public access point to a semi-remote project site. Project will involve hiking over uneven terrain, bending, lifting up to 25lbs, and using general hand tools. REGISTRATION/CHECK IN: Volunteers will receive additional project information and location details 1 week before the project. Preparation for the day, what you will need for the day: -- MINIMUM 3 quarts of water! --Work gloves. --Sturdy boots (No flip flops or sandals) --Long pants. --Rain jacket. --Personal first aid kit, if you have one (OSMP will have a group first aid kit.) --Backpack to carry personal items. --Sunglasses, hat and sunscreen. --Clothing appropriate for weather conditions. Dress appropriately for Colorado weather and to work in an outdoor setting off trail. If volunteers come unprepared, you will not be allowed on the project site.
