Plants & Wildlife

Join OSMP naturalists for an easy all-ages and all-abilities guided hike on National Kids to Parks Day to launch our new series, Ranger Paula’s Wild Adventures. On May 18 we’ll celebrate Endangered Species Week with stories, crafts, and games about the rare and endangered plants and animals who make their homes on our open space. Join us for the adventure! Meet at Chautauqua Ranger Cottage. Each hike in this series will focus on a different topic including but not limited to stewardship, conservation, Leave No Trace, natural history, and how to stay safe while having fun outdoors. Attend two of these hikes and kids are well on their way to completing Ranger Paula’s Passport to Adventure and earning their Ranger Paula Patch. Get your passports at the Chautauqua Ranger Cottage, or on any of our hikes for youth. To earn your patch, submit a completed passport and take the Ranger Paula Oath of Stewardship.
