What: Trail Work Saturday Volunteer Event Project Site: Saddle Rock Trail When: 9:00a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Saturday July 16, 2022 Parking/Registration: Meet at Gregory Canyon Trailhead PROJECT Join the City of Boulder Open Space & Mountain Parks to restore some undesignated trails! The project will reduce OSMP’s maintenance backlog, protect valuable natural resources, and provide a more enjoyable visitor experience. PROJECT DIFFICULTY Moderate/difficult. Project will involve hiking over uneven terrain, bending, lifting up to 25lbs, and using general hand tools. IMPORTANT PROJECT DETAILS Date & Time: Saturday June 4th, 8:00AM – 4:00PM Project Location: Saddle Rock Trail Lunch: OSMP will provide a healthy, delicious lunch for all volunteers. You are encouraged to bring your own snacks. What to Bring: • Three quarts of water • Dress in layers. • Work gloves. • Sturdy shoes (No “five-finger” types of shoes, sandals, chacos) • Rain jacket. • Personal first aid kit, if you have one (OSMP will have a group first aid kit.) • Backpack to carry personal items. • Sunglasses, hat and sunscreen. • Clothing appropriate for weather conditions. HOW TO GET TO THE PROJECT Parking around the Chautauqua area can be challenging on Summer weekends. The public parking within & directly adjacent to Chautauqua is pay-to-park during the weekends, so here are two options to avoid paying to park: 1. Take a shuttle from New Vista High School near Baseline and Broadway. The Park 2 Park shuttles begin operating at 8AM. It is a 5-minute ride from your car to Chautauqua and shuttles will return you to your vehicle at the conclusion of the project. From here, you will need to hike the Baseline trail for approx. 1/4 mile to Gregory Canyon. 2. Park on “The Hill” North of Cascade street. There is free on street parking in the neighborhoods North of Chautauqua that will involve a 10-15 minute walk to Gregory Canyon Thank you again for choosing to spend your Saturday with us =)
