Join naturalist Debbie Cushman to explore Chautauqua's rich history and beauty. We will hike up to Wood's Quarry, passing the location that almost housed a luxury hotel on Enchanted Mesa and head back down past an old ski jump near the site of the CCC barracks. This is a moderate 3.5 mile loop with roughly 800 feet of elevation gain. Please be prepared with at least a liter of water, sturdy hiking shoes, hat and layers (so we are prepared for any weather) and a hearty snack if so desired. NOTE: Due to the Covid-19 virus, we are stressing safety protocols for all hike participants. Group sizes will be limited to 10 people, and you must register beforehand to attend. Participants will also need to complete a brief online training slide show (see below) before registration is allowed. The slide show explains our expectations for social distancing, facial coverings and other important measures to keep you and other participants safe. If you have not yet taken the required “OSMP COVID-19 Safety Protocol for Programs," you will be automatically directed to take that course when you log in to register.
