Questions: email Beau Clark - [email protected] ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Join City of Boulder Open Space & Mountain Parks for National Trails Day 2019 where volunteers will help kickoff construction of a new, sustainable reroute of the Mesa and Fern Canyon Trails. This project will improve trail sustainability and protect valuable resources in the area. This is a moderately difficult project with a 2 mile, round trip hike to the project location. The project will involve hiking over uneven terrain, bending, lifting up to 25lbs, and using general hand tools. OSMP will provide lunch, extra water, gloves and safety gear. Further details regarding meeting location and day of logistics will be emailed to all volunteers 1 week prior to the event. What volunteers will need for the day: --Two quarts of water or camel packs. --Dress in layers. --Work gloves. --Sturdy boots (No lightweight shoes, or “five-finger” types of shoes.) --Long pants. --Rain jacket. --A long sleeved T-shirt. --Personal first aid kit, if you have one (OSMP will have a group first aid kit.) --Backpack to carry personal items. --Sunglasses, hat and sunscreen. --Clothing appropriate for weather conditions. Dress appropriately for Colorado weather and to work in an outdoor setting off trail. If volunteers come unprepared, you will not be allowed on the project site.
