Wellness & Wonder

Welcome summer with an evening of story, song, hiking, and friendship, enhanced by the warmth of a fire. Choose from a variety of activities, all culminating at the Green Mountain Lodge for a community fire (Fire Regulations permitting). Come early and bring your own picnic dinner! Please remember, no glass is allowed on OSMP. Green Mountain Lodge is located on the Ranger Trail and requires an approximately 0.25 mile walk from the Realization Point parking area on Flagstaff Mountain. Since parking is limited, we encourage carpooling to the trailhead. Option #1 6:30-8:30pm: Drop in to the Green Mountain Lodge for family-friendly activities like knot-tying, leaf rubbing, stories, and games for kids of all ages! Option #2 7:30-8:30pm: Sunset hike on Range View-Ute Loop. Beginning at the Green Mountain Lodge, this 1.5 mile easy/moderate loop gains about 500 feet of elevation. We will stop at the Ute Overlook to enjoy the sun setting behind the Continental Divide before walking back to the lodge. Option #3 7:00-8:30pm: Meet at the Ranger Cottage for a twilight hike up Gregory Canyon to Green Mountain Lodge. NOTE: This is a one-way hike - please plan accordingly. This is a 2 mile hike with 1,100 feet of consistent elevation gain. What to pack: Layers, headlamp, 1L water, and snacks. Option #4 8:30-9:30pm: Join us at the Green Mountain Lodge for a community fire. Instruments encouraged! We’ll sing songs, share stories, and welcome new beginnings while we enjoy each other’s company. What to bring: Layers, blankets, water, and your sense of adventure. Optional: S’more makings, food, beverages, musical instruments, and song ideas. NOTE: We love visiting with your furry friends, but please leave them at home for this program. Service Animals excepted.
