Project Description: Join our staff as they transform the spring plantings on the Pearl Street Mall with colorful summer flowers! The tulip bulbs have been removed from the beds and now it is time to plant thousands of annual plants! All skill levels are welcome - our horticulture team will be there to help guide you! Where to Park and Meet: The exact location of the planting can vary day to day depending on the weather. Volunteers should meet our horticulture staff in front of the Court House on the Pearl Street Mall (see link below) and move around from there to specific locations on the Pearl Street Mall. Parks and Recreation always encourages volunteers to consider carpooling or taking alternate modes of transportation to the project location. What to wear: As you know, Colorado weather can vary greatly throughout the day so please dress in layers - we will be working outside with limited to no access to indoor space, For your safety, please wear; close-toed shoes, layered clothing, garden clothing that can get dirty – long pants and a hat are recommended. What to bring: Trowel, work gloves, kneeling pad or knee pads, snacks, sunscreen, hat, refillable water bottle (additional water will be available) Restrooms available: Pearl Street Mall public restrooms, at the corner of Pearl street and 13th street, by the courthouse. All participants under 18 years of age must with their parent/guardian and have a waiver signed by their parent/guardian prior to the event. IMPORTANT: This project may be cancelled/postponed in the event of inclement weather conditions.
